I bought this book to use as a reference book. This is a highly disappointing purchase. The editing is horrendous, there are numerous misspellings, nonsensical sentences, the outline is random within the chapters, and there is too much slang. While the breadth of topics is admirable, and the reason I purchased the book, the depth is extremely shallow. So shallow, I find this book is only good for it's references. To add insult to injury, many of the references are simply from the monthly industry magazines (by SEG and EAGE.) Many of the figures are not self explanatory or don't have the visual clues to focus the reader's attention and sometimes the captions are essentially the same sentences as seen in the text. Luckily, my company paid for this, so this is not money out of my pocket...
